The semiannual Drug Take Back Day will be held Oct. 24 when residents are encouraged to turn over their unused and expired prescription drugs to law enforcement for proper disposal.

“We have mobile collection sites in Bonduel, Ho-Chunk and up on the Stockbridge, so people don’t have to drive all they way into the sheriff’s office,” Shawano County Sheriff George Lenzner said.

Mobile sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A new survey from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that more than 90% of drivers reported slowing down or moving over the last time they passed a disabled vehicle, tow truck or police vehicle on the shoulder.

However, previous observational research found that only 64% of drivers actually changed lanes or reduced their speed when required. More than one-third (36%) did neither.

The Red Raiders fell behind early in Neenah and couldn’t recover, losing to the Rockets 6-3 in a nonconference matchup.

The game featured nine goals. Neenah got first-half goals from Cooper Christie, Tyler Geschrei, Ian Baekte and Awki Medina. Daenen Kehoe scored the first-half goal for Pulaski.

The Tigers prevented the Wolverines from a three-game sweep after wining the third game 25-19. However, Crivitz won the match with wins in games 1, 2 and 4. Scores of those games were 25-11, 25-11, 25-9.

The Chargers shut out Warhawks in three straight sets to earn the conference win.

Shawano 3, Green Bay West 0

The Hawks shut out the Wildcats in a Bay Conference matchup.

Game scores were 25-13, 25-13, 25-16.

With the win, Shawano improves to 12-15 on the season. The Wildcats now own a 1-15 record.

Louis “Corky” William Flynn, 96 (five days short of 97), of Suring, passed away Oct. 10, 2026, at Suring Health and Rehabilitation Center in Suring.

He was born Oct. 15, 1929, to the late William and Anna (Baumgartner) Flynn in Suring. Corky graduated from Mountain High School with the Class of 1947. He joined the United States Army, serving from 1947-49.

Doris E. Foth, 83, of Wittenberg, fell asleep in Christ on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, at Applegate Terrace in Wausau.

Doris was born March 14, 1943, in Milwaukee, to Arthur and Evelyn (Finkler) Hedrick. On Jan. 29, 1964, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Foth at St. Paul Lutheran Church parsonage in Wittenberg. Together, they shared 62 years of marriage, building a life filled with friends, faith and cherished memories.
