Shawano Lake and its connecting waterways are so important to the local economy, residents and other users that when Shawano Area Waterways Management holds its annual golf outing, you can be sure the fundraiser will be well-attended.

The 2026 golf outing was held at Golden Sands Golf Course in Cecil on June 9.

Flag donated to fire department

Mini golf course reopens after years of neglect

Pulaski soccer advances to sectional title game

Pulaski’s girls soccer team advanced to the sectional title game with a 2-1 win at Cedarburg in a sectional semifinals matchup June 11.

The Red Raiders were seeded third, and the Bulldogs were second.

Pulaski’s first goal was score by Leah Grygiel, assisted by Estella Vieaux. Kara Barber, unassisted, scored the second goal.

DNR announces 2026 spring turkey season results

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources announced preliminary totals for the 2026 spring turkey season.

Wisconsin turkey hunters registered 47,725 birds this season, 8.6% above the 5-year average of 43,953.

Alan E. Marquardt, 73, of the Town of DuPont, passed away Tuesday morning, March 31, 2026, at Care Partners Assisted Living, Clintonville, with his family by his side.

Alan Eugene Marquardt was born Oct. 6, 1952, son to the late Norman and Lois (Seefeldt) Marquardt.
