The Shawano Police Department is investigating the death of a 2-year-old child that occurred within the city July 5. “Due to the nature of the incident and the age of the child, we are treating the death as suspicious, which is standard protocol,” Chief Mike Musolff said.

A 32-year-old Shawano area man was struck and killed while walking along County Road HH near Parkwood Drive in the Town of Washington in the early morning hours of July 7. According to a statement from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, at about 4:15 a.m., Shawano County Dispatch received a 911 call from a motorist who believed he had struck something with his vehicle.
