Club Notes: Shawano Area Writers

Lee Pulaski, vice president, called the Feb. 17 meeting of the Shawano Area Writers to order in the Elsie Engel Room at the Shawano Public Library. Members attending were Lee Pulaski, Wendy Goerl, Irma Brunner, Marilyn Kroenke, John Mutter, Barb King, Twilla Beyer, Nick Wudtke, Trudy Bosman, Tom Thorstenson and Lana Allen. The minutes were approved.

Farm management workshop planned in Appleton
UW-Madison Division of Extension is sponsoring an educational workshop to help agricultural lenders and other professionals better understand what farms in northeastern Wisconsin are facing this year. The event is being held at the Grand Meridian, 2621 N. Oneida St., Appleton on March 17.

Dollars for Scholars gets $10K from basketball organization
Shawano Dollars for Scholars was presented with a $10,000 contribution from Shawano Boys Hoops Organization on Jan. 27. The contribution will provide scholarships to high school seniors who have participated in three or more years of basketball by either playing or managing at Shawano Community High School.
