Bond Foundation grants Abrams Theater for sound system

The Leon H. and Clymene M. Bond Foundation awarded a $9,900 grant to Abrams Spotlight Productions Inc. for the theater’s “Can You Hear Me Now?” project — a new sound system.
AROUND THE COMMUNITY: Schmidt gives citation to Pulaski Girl Scout
State Rep. Peter Schmidt recently presented Giselle Rottier, of Pulaski, with an Assembly Citation in recognition of her Girl Scout Gold Award. Schmidt presented the citation to Giselle at a Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes Council ceremony, which was held at the Weidner Center on the UW-Green Bay campus. Rottier filmed and created virtual camp tour videos for each of the Girl Scout camp properties.
AROUND THE COMMUNITY: Sacred Heart students visit Camp Tekakwitha
Fifth grade students from Sacred Heart Catholic School went to Camp Tekakwitha for an overnight adventure on April 25 to focus on outdoor education and team building. Throughout the two-day adventure they focused on team building by participating in a magic carpet activity and a spider web activity. Both activities focused on trust and working as one team.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and Marbleseed announced 165 Wisconsin farmers have been awarded funds through the 2023 Wisconsin Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA) program. Under the leadership of President Troy Edwards, the Shawano Optimist Club has earned Honor Club recognition for the 2021-22 year. Honor Club criteria represent the basic level of service any Optimist Club should strive to provide every year. “The Honor Club concept promotes service to children, service to community and service to ourselves through personal growth and development,” Edwards said.
