The American Association of Retired People, AARP, is a way for members to socialize and to get discounts with services. Garry Felts has been the local chapter’s president for a year and a half and a member for 18 years. “I don’t think I missed many meetings,” he said. AARP is an organization for people 50 and older that strives to enhance the quality of life of people as they age.

Bears dominate Manawa 60-19 The Bonduel High School girls basketball team dismantled Manawa 60-19 in a Central Wisconsin Conference-8 game Friday in Manawa. Jennifer Dowden had 19 points, 13 rebounds, five steals and five assists to lead Bonduel (5-1, 2-1 CWC-8). Alexa Reinke added 10 points. Deanna Zernicke had four steals and four assists.

Bonduel wrestlers have near sweep
The Bonduel High School wrestling team had a near sweep of Rosholt in a Central Wisconsin Conference meet on the road Thursday. The Bears won every match but the heavyweight, in which Race McClone was pinned by Rosholt’s Cody Tokarski in 3:24, to beat Rosholt 54-6. Shawano tops Lakeland Union 88-82
The Shawano Community High School boys swim team got a first-place finish in the final event to defeat Lakeland Union 88-82 Thursday in Shawano. The Hawks led 80-76 heading into the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Authorities seek closure for man's family
It has been six months since a 22-year-old Michigan man was found dead of an apparent hit-and-run in Shawano County. Authorities have still not located the vehicle involved, but the case remains open and active, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department. Timothy J. Meade, 22, of Stephenson, Mich., was found at 2:30 a.m.
Man arrested on sex charge in Wescott
Authorities on Wednesday arrested a 21-year-old Weston man accused of coming to Wescott for a sexual rendezvous with what he believed would be a 15-year-old girl.
