Terri Lynn Felts, 66, of the town of Herman, Shawano, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, Dec. 20, 2013, at the Shawano Medical Center. Terri was born July 2, 1947, in Shawano, a daughter of the late Robert and Doris (Pahlow) Shively. Terri Lynn attended the Shawano schools, graduating from Shawano High School in 1965. Following school, she was employed at the Zwicker Knitting Mill-Eagle Knit Company for over 20 years.

Richard “Dick” C. Breed, 78, of Embarrass, passed away Monday evening, Dec. 23, 2013, at his home. Dick was born in Embarrass on Dec. 1, 1935, the son of Fred and Myrtle (Hanson) Breed. On April 17, 1953, Dick enlisted in the U.S. Navy. His sea duty included serving aboard the USS Des Moines CA-134, a heavy cruiser.

It came down to just six points, but the Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School wrestling team edged Coleman for the Shawano Holiday Classic title Saturday. “The boys are stepping up,” Wittenberg-Birnamwood coach Troy Ostrowski said. “Every week it is about getting better.” Bonduel finished third in the 12-team tournament.

Oconto survived Bonduel’s quick start and then cashed in from the free-throw line in the final quarter to escape with a 71-64 nonconference win Monday at Bonduel High School. The Oconto Falls Lions on Saturday opened the tubing hill located near River Island Golf Course in Oconto Falls. Usual hours of operation will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays when snow conditions are good. The operation this year will feature a new tow rope and improved return trail to the top of the hill.

The Lena Lions Club honored Tom Bourassa on Dec. 3 for his many years of volunteer work for the club and the Oconto and Lena communities. Tedd Nadler, president of the Lena Lions, presented Bourassa with a recognition plaque. Bourassa acts as chaplain of the Lena Lions and attends Lions board meetings and district meetings.
