Clintonville alderperson plans listening sessions

Clintonville Alderperson Mary-Beth Kuester will hold listening sessions at 7 p.m. March 12 and 2 p.m. March 14 at City Hall, 35 S. Clinton Ave. “This will be an opportunity for residents to share ideas, ask questions and find out about ongoing issues in our city,” Kuester said. The sessions are planned for residents of District 4.

Arlene L. Erickson, 83, of the town of Greenville, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 3, 2015, at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, is assisting Arlene’s family.
Marianne J. Severson
Marianne J. Severson, former member of the Writers Inc. Group in Shawano, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, at the age of 89. Survived by her husband, Oral; daughters Judi, Sharon and Lori; grandsons, Jay, Jim and Wes; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Paige and Jaiden. Services will be at the Church and Chapel, 15201 W. National Ave., in New Berlin on Thursday, March 5. Viewing from 3-5 p.m., service at 5.
Harvey A. Steffen
Harvey A. Steffen, 83, of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Harvey was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Wausau to Harvey and Margaret (Voelske) Steffen. He graduated from Wausau High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Education degree. He later earned his master’s degree in school administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Harvey was united to Maralyn Bramer on Aug.

Natural gas approved for town of Aniwa
The northern half of the town of Aniwa will be able to heat and cook with natural gas, as the Wisconsin Public Service Commission this week approved City Gas of Antigo’s service request for that portion of the town. City Gas was authorized to serve the village of Aniwa in May 2011 by extending a pipeline east from Marathon County.
Public invited to join Citizens Police Academy
The Shawano Police Department is looking to give residents an inside view of its operations with the 2015 Citizens Police Academy scheduled to kick off on March 16. The academy is open to people who live or work in Shawano and want to learn more about Police Department operations, issues and challenges. Authorities put out another call to the public Wednesday for any help that might lead to the arrest of a man suspected of an armed robbery in Clintonville and an attempted robbery in Shawano. The Schroeder Shell convenience store, 325 S. Main St., Clintonville, was robbed at gunpoint Feb. 4. Two days later, there was an attempted robbery at the People’s Express East, 1206 E.
6 SCHS athletes receive Bay honors
Shawano Community High School’s Zeke Gueths, a 6-foot-6 junior center, was named to the first team of the All-Bay Conference boys basketball team announced Wednesday. Shawano athletes also were named to the all-conference teams in girls basketball and wrestling. Susan L. Schultz
Susan L. Schultz, 55, of Embarrass, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015, at her home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. The former Susan Lee Lenzner was born on Oct. 30, 1959, in Shawano to Henry “Dick” and Donna (Wruck) Lenzner. Sue was raised in Shawano, where she graduated from high school in 1978. She was united in marriage on Aug. 22, 1981, to Timothy E. Schultz in Embarrass.
