Marvin J. Leonard Sr., 82, formerly of Wittenberg, died Monday, March 2, 2015, at Pine Manor Health Care, Embarrass. He was born on March 1, 1933, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Nicodemus and Marion (Manowski) Leonard. Marvin was united in marriage to Linda Hansen in 1982. She survives. Marvin worked as an automobile dealer and mechanic. He also was the home school coordinator at Potch-Chee-Nunk for a number of years.

George W. Frank, 97, passed away Feb. 28, 2015. He was born Feb. 18, 1918, in the town of Underhill to the late William and Hattie (Smith) Frank. George married Marie Dicke on Dec. 26, 1945. He served his country during World War II, spending three years in the Pacific region. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

With one of five Shawano water wells shut down for rehab, the city is considering entering into an annual contract for the repair of its closed well and continued maintenance on all of them. The Shawano Field Committee on Monday recommended contracting with Utility Service Group at a cost of $10,000 per well; a total of $50,000 per year.
