Bingo has a new home at Shawano County Fair

With bingo becoming more and more popular each year, the Shawano County Fair will feature a new building for the event at the 2023 fair. Shawano Speedway and Fairgrounds Marketing and Promotions Manager Brad Luepke said that constructing a new building has been in the works for a while.
Buffalo returned to Menominee tribe
A local group has recently brought buffalo back to the mighty animal’s homeland on the Menominee Reservation. The Menikanaehkem Community Rebuilders helped to spearhead the effort to bring the buffalo back. Caretaker Donavan Waupoose said that 130 or more years ago buffalo roamed all across North America.

ThedaCare encourages caution during holidays
With respiratory viruses such as COVID-19, influenza and RSV circulating at high levels nationwide, and in Wisconsin, ThedaCare is urging community members to protect themselves this holiday season. “With increasing cases of the three viruses, the season has the potential to be severe, especially for young children and older adults,” said Dr. Zachary Baeseman, ThedaCare family medicine practitioner.

HSHS offers free breastfeeding classes
HSHS St. Vincent Hospital will host free, virtual classes this winter to prepare mothers and families for breastfeeding success. The classes will be offered via Zoom and led by a certified lactation consultant from HSHS St. Vincent Hospital’s Women and Infants Center. The classes are from 5:30-8 p.m. Jan. 10, Feb.
BMO donates $115,000 to Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement of Wisconsin (JA) recently announced that BMO donated $115,000 to provide financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness learning experiences for students across Wisconsin. The mission of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed.
