HSHS offers free breastfeeding classes

HSHS St. Vincent Hospital will host free, virtual classes this winter to prepare mothers and families for breastfeeding success. The classes will be offered via Zoom and led by a certified lactation consultant from HSHS St. Vincent Hospital’s Women and Infants Center. The classes are from 5:30-8 p.m. Jan. 10, Feb.
BMO donates $115,000 to Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement of Wisconsin (JA) recently announced that BMO donated $115,000 to provide financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness learning experiences for students across Wisconsin. The mission of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed.

AROUND THE COMMUNITY: NOCTA raises trout for Wisconsin waterways
Northern Oconto County Trout Alliance (NOCTA) has reported another successful season of raising trout. NOCTA operates in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, using 100% volunteer efforts to raise brook and brown trout from fingerlings received from the DNR in late June to an average of 8 inches by planting time in late October.
Local hero recognized at company party
During Cirrinity’s Dec. 10 annual company party at Maple Hills Golf Course in Wittenberg, one employee was recognized for a life-saving scenario from 28 years ago. Jeremy Paquette, who was invited to the party with his family, honored Dave Schmidt, because Schmidt helped to save Paquette’s life when he was just 4 years old.
AROUND THE COMMUNITY: Hoffman gets Wisconsin Farm Bureau accolades
Christa Hoffman was selected as the winner of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Young Farmer and Agriculturist Outstanding Agriculture Professional Award at the organization’s 103rd annual meeting on Dec. 4. Hoffman is a business development administrator at URUS. She manages grant-funded projects focused on improving cattle management practices on farms in emerging markets.
