CLUB NOTES: American Legion Auxiliary Unit 44
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 44 Wabeno President Karen Prueter reports that the unit had a very busy 2022. The Unit assisted Post 44 legionnaires at many events, including socials, gunless poultry shoots, ribs cookoff, and Valentine cookie day at Wabeno Elementary School. Prueter also recognized Karen Czysweski’s many years as treasurer. Karen retired and was succeeded by Lorry Runge.
AROUND THE COMMUNITY: Wimberger recognized by Wisconsin State Bar
While serving as a first-term Wisconsin legislator, Sen. Eric Wimberger, R-Green Bay, dove into his role, taking on many initiatives that improved access to and administration of justice for Wisconsin citizens. In recognition of those efforts, Wimberger has been awarded the State Bar of Wisconsin Legislative Oversight Committee Scales of Justice Award.

AROUND THE COMMUNITY: ‘War of the Worlds’ coming to Oconto
The Machickanee Players will perform “War of the Worlds” Feb. 10-12 and Feb. 17-19 at the Park Avenue Playhouse, 408 Park Ave., Oconto. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. start time for Sunday matinees. Dinner will be served for the Saturday shows at 6 p.m., and pie will be served at the Sunday shows.
