Bears end 2-game skid

Gresham goes green ... and gold
Gresham Community School students and staff donned their Packers gear Friday in support of the Green Bay team’s NFL wild card playoff game Sunday. Although dressing up in Packers gear is not unusual, the participation Friday was somewhat surprising since officials didn’t announce the Green and Gold Day until just as school was letting out Thursday. It did not take long for seventh-grader Johnny Kerry to decide what to wear.

Robert Lee Unger Jr.
Robert Lee Unger Jr., 67, of Shawano, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at a local nursing home. Born on Nov. 20, 1946, in Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert and Angelina A. (Germano) Unger Sr. Robert grew up in the Shawano area, returning 11 years ago. He was an active member of Greenpeace and an active environmentalist. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On Jan.

Fire destroys barn, animals rescued
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of a fire that destroyed a large old barn at N8959 U.S. Highway 45, about three miles south of Clintonville, on Monday afternoon. The barn was owned by Theresa and Chris Gilling. Theresa Gilling said there was no electricity to the barn, which was being used for storage.
