The County Board voted 19-8 Wednesday to continuing giving maintenance employees $5 per day when on-call during the week and $25 per day during the weekend.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday night after a high-speed chase that started in Wescott and ended when her vehicle spun out on an icy road on the Menominee Reservation. A Shawano County sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle doing more than 70 mph on state Highway 47-55 near County Road A shortly before midnight, according to a Sheriff’s Department report. The deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, but it sped off.
