Ione V. Stueck, 87, of the Township of Navarino, Shawano County, left her home here on March 1, 2014, at the Appleton Medical Center in a ray of sunshine and was excited to experience her new home with her Savior. Ione was born on Aug. 14, 1926, in Mattoon, Shawano County, the daughter of the late Richard and Anna (Timm) Riemer. She was confirmed at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, and graduated from Clintonville High School.

Willy (Tim) Williamson, 52, Kimberly, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. He was born in Appleton on June 17, 1962. Willy was employed at the Kimberly Mill until its closure in 2008. Willy will always be remembered for his passion for outdoor activities and love of family and friends.

A Belle Plaine family managed to escape a fire that started in a wood shed before spreading to their home Monday morning, but the house was destroyed by the blaze. Fire Inspector Jeff Zimmerman of the Shawano Area Fire Department said an electric log splitter was being used to heat up a pan of oil, which caught fire. “It spread to the house pretty quick,” he said.
