As Shawano County officials continue to hammer out a new job description for an administrative coordinator, one supervisor tossed out another suggestion as the county board meeting came to an end Dec. 17.

Governor signs WNA-backed public notice font bill

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers on Dec. 9 signed Senate Bill 440, now known as 2025 Wisconsin Act 72, relating to the required font for published legal notices by Wisconsin newspapers.

The legislation was sponsored in the Assembly by Rep. Todd Novak, R-Dodgeville, and in the Senate by Sen. Romaine Quinn, R-Birchwood.

DATCP accepting grant applications for specialty crops

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is accepting applications for 2026 Specialty Crop Block Grants until March 3, 2026.
