A new job description is in the works for the Shawano County administrative coordinator job, one that could even see the role reduced to a part-time position.

Members of the county executive committee are reviewing the role and responsibilities following the October resignation of Jim Davel, who held the post since May 2021.

Shawano County was awarded a three-year grant for cybersecurity measures, according to Matt Hietpas, technology services director.

The county received $87,095.70 as part of the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program. These funds represent the federal share of project costs.

The purpose of the program is to assist state, local and territorial governments with managing and reducing systemic cyber risk.

A 74-year-old man from the Clintonville area was arrested on homicide-related charges following a shooting Nov. 12 in the Town of Germania, according to a news release from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.

A 67-year-old Greenleaf area man was found dead at the scene.
