John Olson volunteers at Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano and will be involved Saturday in the “Peaceful Palettes Fine Arts & Crafts Exhibit.” Olson was born in La Crosse, graduating from La Crosse Central High School. He sold shoes at Nobil Shoes in Green Bay for two years and then went to Freeport, Illinois, and worked for four years in a variety store.

Lawrence University senior shortstop Amanda Jaskolski has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive softball season. Ronald R. Erickson, of West Bend, died on Monday, May 4, 2015, at Cedar Crossings at the age of 78 years. He was born in 1936 near Tigerton to the late Raymond and Erna (nee McFarlane) Erickson, the oldest of seven children. The family moved to Kewaskum, then farmed in the Kohlsville and Boltonville areas. He graduated from Random Lake High School in 1954. In 1956, Ron joined the United States Army.
