The new Shawano School District Office will open to the public Dec. 1 at Olga Brener Intermediate School, 1300 S. Union Street, Shawano.
School board meetings will be held at the new location beginning in December.
The move necessitates that the district administrative offices be closed to the public from Nov. 24-28, which coincides with the district’s Thanksgiving break.
• Judge Katherine Sloma dismissed three cases dating back to 2020 and 2022 against Breanna M. Tindle, 32, of Clintonville, for lack of prosecution. During a Nov. 4 pre-trial hearing, Assistant District Attorney Edward Burke said a plea agreement offer had been started but not completed. Sloma said the defense attorney had asked for an offer since August 2024. She gave Burke until Nov.
• Gary Koehnke, 47, Crivitz, pleaded no contest Nov. 10 to misdemeanor charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (first offense) and resisting or obstructing an officer. A felony count was dismissed in a plea agreement. Judge Michael Judge levied fines and court costs, revoked Koehnke’s license for nine months and placed him on one year of probation with conditions.
The Waterways Association of Menominee and Shawano Counties has received an international Leadership and Service Award for significant community education and outreach efforts in water resource management.

All adult women are invited to Hillside Assembly’s Annual Christmas Tea, “A Simple Christmas”. This event will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in the Hillside Gym, 5890 State Highway 22, Gillett.
Participants are able to bring their favorite finger food or dessert. Women’s ministry will be providing sandwiches and veggie trays. Also bring a dozen cookies for a cookie exchange (optional).
