James S. LaChapelle

James Stuart LaChapelle, 87, was welcomed through heaven’s gates on July 24, 2021, with family by his side. James (Jim) was born Jan. 23, 1934, to the late Stuart and Lillian (Riebe) LaChapelle. Jim was born in Green Bay and graduated from West High School. Following high school, James proudly joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War.
Russell ‘Russ’ Paul Schmidt
Russell “Russ” Paul Schmidt, 92, of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Russ was born in Reedsburg on Feb. 8, 1929, to the late Paul and Elsa (Drieschmeier) Schmidt. He attended St. Peters Elementary and Reedsburg High School. He continued his education at UW-Madison, earning a degree in Agricultural Marketing. Upon graduation, he was commissioned in the U.S.
Michael P. Wolf
Michael P. Wolf, 47, formerly of Suring, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, following complications after surgery. Mike was born on April 10, 1974, to Edward and Judith (Ferrington) Wolf in Oconto Falls. He graduated from Suring High School with the class of 1992. During high school, Mike worked at Gerndt Farms. In the mid 1990s, Mike started working at Warvel Products in Gillett and stayed until their closure.
Marvin “Pete” N. Strehlow
Marvin “Pete” Norman Strehlow, 88, of Suring, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Pete was born to the late William and Clara (Guelker) Strehlow on Feb. 17, 1933, in Hayes. In 1951, Pete graduated from Suring High School where he was the quarterback of the football team. On Feb. 14, 1953, Pete married Clara Firgens. Pete was the bookkeeper and manager of the Suring Co-Op.
Betty J. Ruffert
Betty Jane Ruffert, 95, of Gillett, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021. She was born on Nov. 29, 1925, to the late Victor and Mary Ellen (Fulwiller) Londre in Norway, Michigan. She and her sister, Alice, were raised by their mother and stepfather, Earl Lacomb. On Sept. 20, 1947, Betty was united in marriage to Jack Ruffert in Green Bay, until his passing on May 30, 2017. The couple was inseparable; they lived in West Allis for over 20 years.
Kathleen M. Kinyon
Kathleen M. Kinyon, 69, Mountain, and South Padre Island, Texas, was called by the Lord to her heavenly home on Monday, July 11, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. The oldest of four children of Robert and Jeraldine (Crowley) Greeley was born Dec. 19, 1951, in Milwaukee.
James Christman
James (Coach) Christman passed away on July 16, 2021. James, along with his twin sister, Jane, was born July 8, 1942, in Logan County, near Napoleon, North Dakota, to the late Edwin and Esther Becker Christman. Jim graduated from Napoleon High School in 1960 and from Valley City State University in North Dakota in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science in education.
