University of Minnesota Twin Cities The following students have been named to the 2022 fall semester dean’s list at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities: • Krakow: Heidi Matz • Sobieski: Brady Gille To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade-point average. University of Mississippi Quinn Cain, of Oconto, was named to the University of Mississippi’s fall 2022 honor roll.

CLUB NOTES: Northwoods Quilters
Northwoods Quilters Club of the tri-county area will have its monthly meeting on March 13 at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 1947 Riverside Ave., Marinette. It is an all-day quilting retreat from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Bring your own projects or plan to work on charity quilts or just socialize. There will also be a quilt show meeting right after the business meeting.
CLUB NOTES: Wannabe Quilters
The Wannabe Quilt Group had a busy 2022 making and donating quilts. The group has donated over 108 quilts to the five school districts in Oconto County, Lena, Oconto, Oconto Falls, Gillett and Suring for the needy families during the holidays. Donations also were given to veterans, Disabled American Veterans, and other charities. The group is always looking for donations of fabric.
CLUB NOTES: Shawano Area Writers
Due to a communication error, two sessions of Shawano Area Writers were held on Feb. 16. In the first session, Twilla Beyer had heard from two schools that she contacted about the George Putz Student Writing Contest. She also made up a poster which can be used to be sent to the schools as a good reminder.
AROUND THE COMMUNITY: Quilt show in Pulaski to feature 100+ pieces
The Town ‘n Country Quilt Guild is hosting its biennial quilt show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 18 at Pulaski Community Middle School, 911 S. St. Augustine St., Pulaski. Admission is $5. On display will be more than 100 handmade quilts of all sizes, as well as other quilted items — including table runners, wall hangings and miscellaneous pieces.
AROUND THE COMMUNITY: ‘Our Town’ coming to Oconto Falls High School
Latitude 42 degrees, 40 minutes. Longitude 70 degrees, 37 minutes. These numbers represent the location of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, the setting for Thorton Wilder’s first successful play, “Our Town.” Folks are invited to visit the residents and experience the lifestyle of this early 1900 New England community as the Oconto Falls High School Drama Club presents this classic dramatization March 17-19.
