Richard Cheslock

Richard (Dick) Cheslock, 72, of Shawano, passed away peacefully Nov. 23 with family by his side. Dick was born to the late Alvin and Betty (Laubenstein) Cheslock. He graduated from Bonduel High School in 1966. In 1969, Dick began serving the city of Green Bay as a firefighter, promoted to captain in 1995.
Clayton LaRon ‘Butch’ Buettner
Clayton LaRon “Butch” Buettner, 83, of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2020, with his wife and children by his side. He was born Aug. 5, 1937, in Red River to the late Wallace and Hazel (Bopp) Buettner. Clayton joined the Navy at the age of 17 during the drawdown of the Korean War. He was a gunner’s mate.
Ronald Palok
Ronald Palok, of Antigo, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 85 years old. He was born July 4, 1935, in Milwaukee, a son of Chester and Marie (Schmidling) Palok. He married Judith Kurczewski on Jan. 25, 1958, at St. Veronica Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
Gerald R. Cibulka Sr.
Gerald R. “Jerry” Cibulka Sr., 81, of Shawano, passed away early Wednesday morning, Nov. 18, 2020, at The Pines Nursing Home in Embarrass. Gerald was born Nov. 7, 1939, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Frank and Vivian Cibulka. He attended Milwaukee public schools and graduated from West Division High School in 1957. After high school, Jerry went on to work as a machine operator at Inland Container Company in Milwaukee.
Carolyn M. Baerenwald
Carolyn M. Baerenwald, 79, of Sun Prairie, formerly of the Clintonville area, passed away early Friday morning, Nov. 20, 2020, at the Watertown Health Care Center. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory in Clintonville is assisting the Baerenwald family.
Marlene J. Nybo
Marlene J. Nybo, 82, of Erlanger, Kentucky, formerly of Shawano, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at the Village Care Center in Erlanger. Born Oct. 3, 1938, in Fargo, North Dakota, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Blanche (Kopperud) Northup. After graduating from high school, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and a master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. On Aug.
Peter Thiex
Peter “Bear” Thiex, 69, of Wittenberg, passed away on Wednesday morning, Nov. 25, 2020, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital with the love of his life by his side as God called him home. Peter was born Jan. 28, 1951, in Wausau, the son of Arnie and Wanda (Pollock) Thiex. Peter graduated from Bowler High School in 1969. On May 1, 1976, Peter was united in marriage to Susan Onesti at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Tigerton.
