Jessie E. Neuman, 98, of Tigerton, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at her daughter’s home under the loving care of family and nurses with Ministry Hospice. The former Jessie Ella Kading was born July 24, 1915, in Whitcomb, the daughter of Christ and Olga (Schroeder) Kading. She grew up in Whitcomb and attended school there until the eighth grade. Then she went to St. John’s Lutheran School, Tigerton, and was confirmed in 1929.

Arnold George Krause Sr., 87, of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in Appleton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill in the town of Richmond with the Rev. John C. Eyer officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano with military rites conducted by the Shawano VFW Post 2723. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m.

Shirley Mae Buckley Villeneuve, 81, former resident of Devon Court, widow of Romeald Charles “Bud” Villeneuve, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at Emeritus at Hawthorne Inn in Greenville, South Carolina. Born in Chicago on Dec. 23, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Chester W. and Stella Sims Buckley. Mrs. Villeneuve was a homemaker who loved her family and will be remembered as a gifted seamstress that would often make clothes for her family.

Shawano police are investigating a quick succession of residential burglaries reported Thursday morning. The first was reported at 4:19 a.m. in the 800 block of East Richmond. A computer was reported stolen in that incident. Another burglary was reported at 5:38 a.m. in the 600 block of East Maurer Street, followed by a third reported at 7:14 a.m.

Cracks in the well of the diving pool have been filled and sealed, and the outdoor swimming pool in Buchholtz Park in Clintonville is expected to open Saturday. Shawano police responding to a two-vehicle crash Wednesday arrested a Crandon man on a charge of seventh-offense operating while intoxicated, making it the city’s third multiple-offense drunken driving case in five days. Lois Joyce (Pashouwer) Smith, 81, of Shawano, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Monday, June 23, 2014, at Shawano Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 20, 1933, daughter of the late Lionel and Joyce (Gallagher) Hodgins. On April 24, 1951, Lois married Harvey Pashouwer, who preceded her in death on May 6, 2014. On Nov. 3, 1978, she was united in marriage to Howard Smith Jr. at West Side Moravian Church, Green Bay.
