Goodwill employee returns $18,200 found in donated purse

A lost wallet containing more than $1,600 isn’t the first time Shawano Police Lt. Dan Conradt has dealt with found property during his time with the local police department.

The recent case of Carmen Scholl’s lost wallet led to Conradt recalling a discovery of misplaced money 10 times the amount in the lost wallet.

• Robert R. Umland, 33, Shawano, pleaded no contest April 21 to misdemeanor bail jumping. The charge was amended from a felony in a plea agreement. Judge Katherine Sloma levied fines and court costs of $705.

• Jason J. Huncosky, 25, Suring, pleaded no contest April 20 to possession of methamphetamine. Judge Kent Hoffman withheld sentencing and placed him on two years of probation with conditions.

Dairyland, BABA getting ready for another season of baseball

The boys of summer will soon be back on the baseball diamond, but fans will notice a few changes from last year in the Dairyland League and Badger Amateur Baseball Association.

Ten Dairyland teams are scheduled to open league play May 3 with five games set for 1:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the BABA will open division play May 10 with games scheduled in four divisions.

Chargers crush Eagles on baseball diamond

Slinger 8, Pulaski 4

Braun Wotruba hit 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Pulaski’s 8-4 loss to Slinger.

Gavin Sikorski hit 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Eli Heuser had a pair of RBIs.

Gavin Luebke took the loss for the Red Raiders.

Red Raiders softball team goes 1-1 at Kenosha Quad

Pulaski 11 Waterford 2

Pulaski batters pounded out 14 hits included three doubles in an 11-2 win over Waterford at the Kenosha Quad.

Ella Maroszek, Kennedy Nowak and Eiley Pierquet each had three hits. Maroszek had three RBIs, and Nowak had two.

Nowak connected for two doubles, and Molly Molthen had one.
