Hawks win Jaguar Classic

Aug. 30 Jaguar Classic Shawano golfers scored seven under par for a 65 and earned first-place honors at the Jaguar Classic at Hilly Haven Golf Course in Ashwaubenon. The Jaguar Classic is a four-person scramble with alternating drives. Twenty-one teams competed. De Pere placed second with a 67, and Seymour was third with a 68. Shawano is in second place in the Bay Conference. Next up is a conference mini-meet Sept. 10 at Seymour.
Pulaski shuts out Appleton East
Aug. 30 Pulaski 2, Appleton East 0 One goal in each half was enough for Pulaski as the Red Raiders shut out Appleton East 2-0 in non-conference action. Maddox McKeefry started the scoring with an unassisted goal at 23 minutes. At 53 minutes in the second half, Riley Crocker scored on an assist from Hudson Schultz. Pulaski had nine shots on goal compared to two for Appleton East.
Golf outing to benefit Bonduel athletics
It’s almost time for the Bonduel Track and Field annual golf outing to benefit all Bonduel athletic programs. This year’s four-person scramble and dinner event will be held Sept.

Racing at the legendary 3/8 mile?
For more than 60 years, there has been racing at the Shawano Speedway — the legendary half-mile track at the Shawano County Fairgrounds. That slogan may have to be reworked if the track is shortened to a 3/8-mile track as proposed. “Over the next couple of months, the ag society is looking to reduce that track size from half-mile to 3/8 miles,” Supervisor Raymond Rigsby said at the Aug. 28 meeting of the Shawano County Board of Supervisors.

Chargers place second at relays
After only having six swimmers on varsity last year, the Wittenberg-Birnamwood swim team is back bigger and better for 2024. The Chargers have a full varsity team as well as a pair of swimmers for JV events. At the Bay Conference Relays on Aug.
Pulaski, Marshfield tie
Aug. 29 Pulaski 3, Marshfield 3 Pulaski and Marshfield battled to a 3-3 tie in non-conference action on the Red Raiders’ field Aug. 29. Pulaski opened the game with Maddox McKeefry scoring with an assist from AJ Schenk eight minutes into the game. Marshfield scored twice in the first half to lead 2-1 at the break. McKeefry had an unassisted scored at the 44-minute mark to tie the contest at 2-2.
