With Labor Day in the rear-view mirror, regular hours have resumed at the Shawano County Courthouse, 311 N. Main St. Regular hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The courthouse will be closed the morning of Sept. 13 for staff training. Offices will open at noon. The courthouse will also be closed Nov. 28-29 for Thanksgiving and Dec. 24-25 for Christmas.

Ardella F. Weisnicht, 88, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024. She was born on Sept. 1, 1935, in the Town of Angelica, daughter of the late Hilbert and Elsie (Sokja) Kroening. Ardella’s mother passed away when she was 18 months old, and she was raised by her Aunt Emma (Hoppe) Kuhn in Shawano.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds anglers that the 2024 hook and line season for lake sturgeon will take place on certain waters from Sept. 7 through Sept. 30. All anglers looking to harvest a lake sturgeon must have their general 2024 fishing license and a valid hook and line lake sturgeon tag. Licenses and tags may be purchased online through Go Wild or from a licensed vendor.

Sept. 3 Blackwolf Run Invitational Pulaski golfers placed 15th out of 19 teams competing at the Blackwolf Run/Meadow Valleys Course in Kohler. The Red Raiders scored a 458. Muskego won the meet with a 362. Scores for the Pulaski girls were 109, a pair of 115s and 119. There was also a 127.

Sept. 3 Pulaski 5, Sturgeon Bay 0 The Red Raiders rolled to a 5-0 win over the host Clippers of Sturgeon Bay in non-conference action. Pulaski jumped on the board early with a goal in the second minute from Hudson Schultz. Maddox McKeefry scored in the 17th minute to give the Red Raiders a 2-0 halftime advantage. The lead doubled to four off of two early goals to open the second half.
