Hawks go 1-1 at Mosinee Tournament

Sept. 7 Mosinee Tournament Shawano 5, Mosinee 1 The Hawks opened action at the Mosinee Tournament with a 5-1 win over their hosts. Ruben De Gaspari scored two goals for Shawano. Also scoring were Warner Beyer, Grayson Swedberg and Brayden Mead.
Pulaski, Shawano win by 1-0 scores
Sept. 5 Pulaski 1, Hortonville 0 Pulaski scored one goal 22 minutes into the first half, and that was all that mattered in the 1-0 non-conference win over Hortonville. Maddox McKeefry scored on an assist from Nolan Pratt. The game was called at the start of the second half due to severe weather. By rule, since one half was completed, the result became official. Josh Roth made three saves in goal for Pulaski (4-0-1).
Love injured in Green Bay’s season opener in Brazil
While dropping the season opener to the Philadelphia Eagles was not the ideal start for Green Bay, learning that the team may be without Jordan Love for the next six games may be worse. Down five points and marching down the field, Love was hit high and low before falling to the ground in pain with an apparent leg injury. Upon returning to Wisconsin, Love was diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee.
Love to miss multiple weeks with knee injury
The main storyline for the Packers throughout the summer was who was going to win the backup quarterback position. While there was a fair amount of hype surrounding the story, many knew that it wasn’t really that big of a deal because Jordan Love was expected to build off of his incredible end to the 2023 season.
