A Wittenberg firm has been selected to pick up garbage in the city of Gillett, beginning in January. The City Council on Thursday selected Harter’s Fox Valley Disposal as its trash collector.

At 2:50 a.m. July 28, a Suring man was traveling south on Alder Lane, south of state Highway 32 in the town of How. His vehicle entered the south ditch and overturned, causing severe damage to the auto. He was not injured. At 2:25 p.m.

Proceedings from July 30 Dennis J. Krajewski, 54, Oconto Falls, pleaded no contest to a disorderly conduct charge for an incident that took place Oct. 20, 2012, in Oconto Falls. A 90-day jail sentence was imposed and stayed, and he was placed on probation for one year with the conditions he attend alcohol and other drug abuse assessment and pay $279.32 restitution and $243 court costs. Jodi A. Behreandt, 42, Wittenberg, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at Ministry St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston. She was born on May 8, 1971, in Wausau, the daughter of Lee and JoAnn (Bloecher) Innerebner, of Eland. On Nov. 12, 1994, Jodi was united in marriage to Perry Behreandt in Wittenberg. He survives. Jodi was a 1989 graduate of Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School.

H. William “Bill” Kriegel Jr., 63, of Tigerton, passed away Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Harvey William Kriegel Jr. was born March 28, 1950, at the Clintonville Hospital to Harvey “Joe” and Virginia (Morris) Kriegel Sr. Bill was raised in Tigerton and graduated from Tigerton High School in 1968. He went on to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, earning a major in both political science and history.
