Like more than a million other Americans, one of the first things I read every morning is a daily email from “Wordsmith.org,” the brainchild of a guy named Anu Garg. Wordsmith.org is an online community comprising word lovers from an estimated 200 countries. Garg, an Indian-American author and speaker, was born in rural India.

Exactly what factored into the recent slight reduction in the price of gasoline at many outlets serving drivers on the path around the Falls is not clear. The Oconto Falls High School FBLA Chapter on May 5 held its annual end of the year banquet to recognize members for their achievements and to induct officers for 2014-2015. As part of the induction process, current officers lit candles and handed them to the officers who would take their positions. Each candle was a different color, symbolizing the unique characteristics and responsibilities of each officer position.

Ronald Christensen, CEO and administrator at Woodland Village, Suring, is a recipient of the Faith That Works award, given by the Diocese of Green Bay. Oconto Falls High School senior Meghan Vandenack captured first place in the pole vault at the Peshtigo Invitational with a height of 8 feet, 6 inches Thursday. Meanwhile, junior Mike Friedman notched two top-three finishes at the invitational as the OFHS boys finished fourth.
