Helen M. Krause, 86, of the town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, July 10, 2014, at Kindred Hearts in Clintonville. Helen was born in Shawano on Jan. 30, 1928, as the daughter of the late Fred and Elsie (Luecke) Waelchli. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1946 and was united in marriage to Vilas Krause on April 12, 1947, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Stoney Hill.

Joseph “Joe” Schwebl III, 55, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, in Shawano. Born on Feb. 3, 1959, in LaGrange, Illinois, he is the son of Joseph Schwebl Jr. and the late Carol (Marohl) Schwebl. He was employed by the Oneida Casino as a security officer. Joe was known as a “jack of all trades,” which showed in his carpentry skills and his enjoyment of being outside.

Margaret H. Pitera, 95, of Gresham, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Shawano. She was born on Sept. 15, 1918, to the late Gayle and Addie (Leggett) Wilcox in Tomahawk. On June 17, 1939, Margaret married Lyle Weiland. He preceded her in death in 1986. Margaret married Stan Pitera in May 1999. He preceded her in death in 2002. Margaret was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Red River.

People have been asked to stay out of the Pigeon River in Clintonville as the Department of Natural Resources investigates a wastewater release from a dairy farm located along Reinke Road. DNR officials say the wastewater flowed into Honey Creek, a local tributary that discharges to the Pigeon River, last week.

For the second time in two months, the Clintonville Common Council has told the city administrator to go home. The council voted 7-3 Tuesday to indefinitely place Lisa Kotter on administrative leave, with pay.
