A Seymour principal with 25 years of experience has been named the new principal of Gillett Elementary School. Amy McKeefry is expected to officially begin her new role on July 1, succeeding Curt Angeli, who is retiring after 35 years in the Gillett School District, the last 11 as elementary prinicpal.

Gary Clark of American Legion Post 502 announced the 2025 Memorial Day schedule of events in Wittenberg. Ceremonies will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Eland Cemetery and then move to the Bethany Cemetery around 8 a.m. The Ho-Chunk Cemetery will be next at 8:30 a.m., followed by a ceremony at the Robin Road Cemetery at 9 a.m. A presentation at the Homme Home will be at 9:30 a.m., with visits to the St.

The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department has closed a 9-year death investigation with charges of murder being posed to the husband of the victim. James C. Radford, 39, is being charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the death of his wife, Sabrina Radford. Deputies responded April 11, 2016, to a residence on County Road J in the Town of Fairbanks for a report of a woman who had sustained a gunshot wound.

May 22 Bay Port 14, Pulaski 1 (boys) Pulaski fell to 0-7 in the Big Valley Conference with its 14-1 loss to Bay Port. The team is 0-17 overall. Bay Port 16, Pulaski 2 (girls) Like the boys team, the Pulaski girls team also fell to 0-7 in the Big Valley Conference after a 16-2 loss to the Pirates. The team is 0-9 overall.

May 22 FRCC Conference Meet Pulaski’s girls track and field team won the conference meet at Green Bay Preble, collecting 143 points. Bay Port was next in line with 100. De Pere won the boys event with 140 points, with Pulaski placing fourth with 77. Olivia Sprangers won the 100-meter dash. She also won the long jump, with Lydia Gwidt placing second. Emerson Fabry won the 800-meter run, with teammate Olivia Stedl placing second.

May 22 FRCC Championship Pulaski placed fifth among 10 teams with a 349 score at Wander Springs Golf Course in Greenleaf. With a 72 as the top score in the meet, the Red Raiders were led by Dixon Holewinski with 81. He was joined by Brady Hayward with 84, Casey Madlem with 91 and Nathan Jossie with 93. Bradin Schultz also carded a 94.

May 22 Bonduel 10, Amherst 3 Bonduel took advantage of nine walks and five Amherst errors to earn a needed conference win, 10-3. The Bears were also aggressive on the bases, stealing 10 times without getting caught. Cade Johnson started on the mound for Bonduel and struck out 10 in five innings.

May 22 Pulaski 1, Notre Dame 0 Pulaski’s winning streak was extended to four games with a 1-0 shutout over Notre Dame.
