An animal shelter in business for more than a year finally has a conditional use permit The Shawano County Planning, Development and Zoning Committee approved the permit for Joy’s Place Animal Rescue in rural Gresham at its July 2 meeting. Room taxes and other economic indicators had a modest increase in 2024, according to the tourism director for the Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce.
