Felony OWI A Wausau man is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday on a felony drunken driving charge stemming from an alleged reckless driving incident in Belle Plaine on Monday. Kenneth G. Koskey, 49, could face a maximum six years in prison and $10,000 fine if convicted of fourth-offense operating while intoxicated.

Shawano Police Department Aug. 13 Police logged 15 incidents, including the following: OWI — A 38-year-old Bonduel woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated at Main and Green Bay streets. Disturbance — Police responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of Airport Drive. Burglary — Police investigated a burglary in the 200 block of West Second Street. Juvenile — Police responded to a juvenile problem at the Rec Center, 220 E.

Shawano County has been updating a national database monthly on its energy use, three years after a grant that required the information ended. The Administrative Committee this week voted 4-1 to allow the Maintenance Department to stop uploading the information to the Environmental Protection Agency’s website.

Shawano’s city attorney has sent notice to the owner of Anello’s Torch Lite that the restaurant must downsize its petting zoo to within the limits set by the Plan Commission 10 years ago. Owner Rita Mondus was given until Sept. 5 to comply, however she has asked the Plan Commission to reconsider the issue. The commission will convene at Anello’s, 1276 E. Green Bay St., for a tour on Sept.

Donald G. Deprey, 87, of Manitowoc, formerly of Two Rivers, passed into eternal life Monday evening, Aug. 12, 2013, at Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Don was born March 21, 1926, in Two Rivers, son of the late George and Blanche (Gauthier) Deprey. He was a graduate of Washington High School with the Class of 1947. Don served with the U.S. Navy during World War II from July 1943 until August 1946.

Victor W. “Vic” Ziemer, 86, of Shawano, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, Aug. 13, 2013, at the Evergreen Care Center in Shawano. Vic was born Jan. 9, 1927, at his grandparents’ farm in the town of Richmond, Shawano County. Vic is the son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Wilber) Ziemer. He attended the Shawano schools and then entered the United States Navy, where he served during World War II.

Evelyn M. Kunschke, 71, of Shawano, passed away suddenly Monday evening, Aug. 12, 2013, in Shawano, following a courageous battle with cancer. Evelyn was born June 28, 1942, in Wichita, Kan., a daughter of the late Wilbur W. and Jessie D. (Farnsworth) Koon. On Dec. 14, 1998, Evelyn was united in marriage to Eldor Kunschke in Shawano.
