George A. Montoure, 84, found peace on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, in Milwaukee. He was born in Shawano on April 4, 1929 Beloved husband for 60 years of Kathleen (nee Kavier). Devoted father of Greg, David (Julie) and the late Linda Montoure. Cherished grandpa of Kristin (Tony) Beison, Kevin, Sydnee and Michael Montoure. Great-grandpa of Sylas Beison.

Colleen Lynn “Jem-E-Wan Jun De-Qua” Smith, clan mother of the Bear Clan, Ottawa Nation, 64, of Cecil, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, in Appleton. Born on Aug. 28, 1949, in Milwaukee, she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Lillian R (Hefele) Briggs. On Feb. 26, 1972, she was united in marriage to Jody W. Smith in Eland. While Jody was in the service, the couple traveled all over the world.
Shawano man nabbed in child sex sting
A Shawano man who allegedly believed he was meeting a 15-year-old boy for sex was arrested Saturday as part of an Internet sting. Richard E. Denty, 34, was charged in Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court on Monday with a felony count of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime.
Ruth K. Way
Ruth K. Way, 96, of McFarland, formerly of Tigerton, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, in Shawano. She was born on Aug. 23, 1917, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Laura (Papendorf) and Ben Mauel. She grew up in Marion, where she married Robert B. Way on Nov. 8, 1941. At age 46 after her husband’s death, she went to college at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, graduating in 1973.
Jacqueline A. Liesner
Jacqueline Ann Liesner, 84, of Bonduel, passed away Thursday, Sept.r 19, 2013, at a local nursing home. Born on September 29, 1928, in Marshfield, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Alice (Powell) Rizzi. On July 23, 1949, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Liesner in Spencer. Throughout her life, Jacqueline worked at various restaurants as well as at the Northern Shoe Company. She was a member of the Frieden’s Ev.

Marjorie Elaine “Mutzy” Tischler, 87, of Shawano, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, in Shawano. Born on March 4, 1926, in Bonduel, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Hilda (Boerst) Karrow. Mutzy lived most of her life in the Bonduel area and graduated from Bonduel High School. On April 14, 1949, she was united in marriage to Ernest Tischler in Bonduel. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 2009. Mutzy was a member of the St.
John E. Montoure
Dr. John E. Montoure, 86, of Meridian, Idaho, passed away Sept. 4, 2013, at a hospital in southern Idaho. John was born on May 10, 1927, to the late John Karl and Lorena (Geise) Montoure on an 80-acre dairy farm near Shawano. He was the second child of 13. He grew up in the Shawano area and graduated high school in 1944. After being a farm hand for several years, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1946.

Repairs done, it's time to enjoy season
