CLUB NOTES: Delta Kappa Gamma, Nu Chapter

Terry Lorge, FWD Museum director, talked about the fascinating history of the Four Wheel Drive Seagrave Company during a tour of the museum in Clintonville during Nu Chapter’s October meeting. Brothers-in-law William Besserdich and Otto Zachow, along with Walter Olen, established the Badger Four Wheel Drive Auto Company in 1909.
AROUND THE COMMUNITY: ‘White Christmas’ next show out of Abrams
Abrams Spotlight Productions Inc. invites the community to its performance of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas.” The musical, directed by Debra Jolly, will be presented Dec. 1-4 and Dec. 8-11 at the Nancy Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple St., Abrams. Shows are at 7 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 1 p.m.

Latest barn quilt has a fowl theme
Greg and Debbie Bernitt have sponsored Shawano County’s 397th barn quilt that is on display on a barn on their 20-acre farm at 542 State Road in Birnamwood. Even prior to the Bernitts purchasing the farm in 2014, it was known as Mallard Acres, so that is what they named their quilt pattern.
AROUND THE COMMUNITY: Shawano woman selected for WFBF leadership program
Fifteen agricultural leaders have been selected to participate in the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Leadership Institute, including Amanda Williams from Shawano. This year-long leadership training program’s mission is to develop strong and effective agricultural leaders. “Today’s farmers and agriculturists must take the lead to be advocates for their farms and agribusinesses,” said WFBF Senior Director of Member Relations Wendy Kannel.
JW returns to door-to-door ministry
Shawano residents can continue to expect the occasional knock on their door, as members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses have recently gone back to door-to-door ministry. Jehovah’s Witnesses suspended door-to-door ministry in March 2020 due to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
