Manawa Grand Finale

Manawa won the girls events, and Weyauwega-Fremont won the boys events at Manawa.

For the girls, it was Manawa with 144 team points, Weyauwega-Fremont 108, Bonduel 97, Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 97, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 94, Marion/Tigerton 70, Gresham/Bowler 40 and Wolf River Lutheran 17.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 10, Weyauwega-Fremont 0

Wittenberg-Birnamwood pounded out 17 hits and shut out the Warhawks 10-0.

Connor Meverden hit 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored.

Eddie Nowinsky was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Oliver Fraaza was 4-for-5 with an RBI and four runs scored, and Zandyr Barke was 3-for-5 with a run scored.

WIAA regionals

Oconto Falls 12, Waupaca 10

The No. 9 seed Panthers topped No. 8 Waupaca 12-10 in the opening round of WIAA regional action. Oconto Falls advanced to the Round 2 game at No. 1 Fox Valley Lutheran on May 26.

Xavier 13, Menominee Nation 0

The No. 9 Eagles ended their season with a 13-0 shutout at the hands — and bats — of No. 8 seed Xavier.

FRCC Championship

Pulaski senior Brady Hawyard’s 75 made him the top golfer at Wander Springs Golf Course in Greenleaf.

Pulaski golfers scored 331 and finished fourth.

Joining Hayward on the links were Bradin Schultz with 83, Ben Klarner with 86 and Casey Madlem with 87.

For the second game in a row, Pulaski’s soccer team played to a tie.

On the road at Green Bay Preble, the Red Raiders tied the Hornets 0-0.

Goalkeeper Tatum Wentland had three saves in the draw.

Marion 24, White Lake 5

Julie James was 5-for-7 with three doubles, six RBIs and five runs scored as Marion walloped White Lake 24-5.

Josie Goethe was 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Ella Stuhr hit 2-for-6 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Alexis Berg was also 2-for-6 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

M&O Conference Championship

Gillett placed second and Lena was third at Parkway Golf Course in Pound.

Gillett’s 358 included Parker Jenerou at 86, Brody Halla at 90, and Chase Rosenlund and Bradyn Kiedrowski, each at 91.

Lena totaled 366, including Tanner Behnke at 86, Colt Miller at 88, Cooper Demmith at 90 and Zander Thomson at 102.

Oconto Falls 10, Marinette 8

Trace Brehmer hit a grand slam in the fifth inning as Oconto Falls beat Marinette 10-8. Brehmer ended the day hitting 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBIs and one run scored.

Landon Delfosse hit 2-for-3, scored twice, and had a double and an RBI. Chase Belanger was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a double.

Rosholt Relays

Bonduel’s boys and girls teams each placed second at Rosholt. The boys collected 75.95 points, and the girls had 67.95.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s girls were fourth with 49.97 points, and the boys were sixth with 38.
