The Shawano Recreation Center is set to reopen in less than three months, and the Shawano Parks and Recreation Commission got a chance to see the latest work done in the facility during its May 20 meeting.

During the summer months, the Shawano School District will be posting videos and articles to address school finances. District officials hope this will help those who disagree with recent cost-cutting decisions to understand why those decisions were made.

After nearly half a century in its current home, Elderon Memorial VFW Post 8068 is looking for a new location.

The clubhouse is approaching its 45th anniversary after previously serving many years as an insurance agency. While it has served the VFW well, it has become difficult to keep up the maintenance, accessibility requirements and updates that are required after decades of service.

The Shawano School Board is still feeling the heat from a recent vote in closed session to issue nonrenewal notices for contracts to three teachers, even though the board voted again on the matter in open session.
