Remembering the fallen heroes of 9/11 and honoring those who continue to risk their lives today were key points in a passionate speech that Bonduel Fire Chief Kevin Lynch gave Sept. 13 for Patriot Day at the Sikora Community Pavilion in Village Park.

A newly built playground at Sacred Heart Catholic School has been dedicated to the newest canonized saint, Carlo Acutis, following a special ceremony Sept. 15.

Almost 20 years ago, the Town of Belle Plaine purchased an island on the Cloverleaf Lakes to keep it from being developed.

Over the years, Gibson Island has been a place to reconnect with nature. Those opportunities include hiking trails and watching a pair of bald eagles that have returned to the area for several years to nest and raise their young.

It’s been around for more than 50 years and is one of Oconto County’s best-kept secrets.

New View Industries is a community rehabilitation program that is a division of the county’s health and human services department. It serves disabled adults and youth as well as individuals with mental health needs.
