Victim identified in Sept. 20 crash

The traffic report for a fatal Sept. 20 crash in the Town of Gillett was released Oct. 4, including the names of those involved.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Department report indicates that the victim of the crash was Wayne David Couillard, 24, of Gillett, whose was driving an SUV that struck a pickup truck head-on on state Highway 22 near the intersection of County Road P. Couillard was pronounced dead at the scene.

• Richanda A.M. James, 33, Rhinelander, pleaded no contest Sept. 29 to misdemeanor charges of possession of controlled substance and possession of THC. A related felony charge was dismissed but read into the record in a plea agreement. Judge Katherine Sloma levied fines and costs of $1,482.93.

• Tanner A. Friebel, 24, Marshfield, had a deferred judgment agreement revoked Sept. 30 in a 2023 conviction for possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, violating an ignition interlock device order and operating while revoked.
