Tigerton wins important conference matchup

The Tigerton volleyball team traveled to CWC North foe Northland Lutheran for an Oct. 9 matchup that pitted two teams each sporting two conference losses so far this season.

Red Raiders, Wildcats soccer teams lose

The Tritons took down the Red Raiders 4-1 in FRCC conference play Oct. 9.

The teams traded goals in the final minutes of the first half. Leo Weber scored first for Notre Dame in the 33rd minute, and AJ Schenk got the equalizer in the 39th minute for Pulaski.

The Tritons then pulled away in the second half, getting a second goal from Weber and additional goals from Jacob Davister and Royce Lin.

Hawks let one slip away in Waupaca

On paper, it wasn’t a very intriguing matchup.

Two high school football teams with identical 1-6 records – Shawano and Waupaca – faced each other Oct. 9 at Comet Field in Waupaca and ended up combining for eight touchdowns and 55 points.

Although Shawano scored on three of its first four possessions and led 21-7 at halftime, the Comets outscored the Hawks 27-0 in the second half and ended up with a 34-21 Bay Conference win.

Pulaski, Shawano tennis players advance to sectionals, but bow out in opening rounds

Pulaski High School advanced one singles player and a pair of doubles teams to sectional tennis action, while Shawano had three singles players move on to the second round of the postseason.

Unfortunately, all of the girls lost in their opening matches of sectionals Oct. 8.

At No. 1 singles in Division 1, Pulaski’s Ruth Krause lost 6-0, 1-6, 10-7 to De Pere’s Lillianna Graf.

Gresham/Bowler soccer team shut out

The Gresham/Bowler soccer team lost 8-0 in a home conference game to Columbus Catholic Schools on Oct. 8.

Spartans take three of four from Oconto Falls

A North Eastern Conference championship is not in the cards this season for the Oconto Falls volleyball team.

Luxemburg-Casco wrapped up at least a share of a conference title Oct. 7 by winning three of four games on the Panthers’ home court. Oconto Falls fell to 5-2 in North Eastern matches, while the Spartans improved to 7-0.

Suring volleyball team defeats Wausaukee

Ellayna Skarban recorded 10 attack kills and Chloe Schroeder tallied 27 assists as Suring defeated Wausaukee 3-0 on Oct. 7.

Game scores were 25-10, 25-17, 25-17.

Skarban added two digs, and Schroeder had one attack kill and one dig.

Lexis Remic contributed seven attack kills, four digs, a blocked kill and an assist. Aliya Cox had nine attack kills, three blocked kills, three digs and an assist.
