Red Raiders, Bears lose in regional title games

Ten hits by the Papermakers and three errors by the Red Raiders combined for a loss in the regional title game for Pulaski.

Eli Heuser hit 3-for-4 with a double and run scored. Gavin Sikorski was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Eddie Van Roy collected two RBIs and a double.

Chargers softball team loses title game

New Holstein 9, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 2

The Huskies outhit the Chargers 13-5 in winning the regional title.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood scored a run in each of the fifth and sixth innings, but by then, New Holstein already had its nine runs.

Shawano soccer season ends in shutout

Seymour 4, Shawano 0

The Hawks were shut out 4-0 by the Thunder in the Division 3 regional semifinal.

Shawano ends the season at 9-10-1.

Shawano tennis season ends with forfeit at state

Shawano senior Enrique Omella Valls’ trip to the state tennis meet was short lived, as he lost by forfeit 2-0, 2-0 to Aquinas’ Teagan Scott on June 4.

Omella Valls went into Division 2 tournament play with a 16-4 mark. Scott, also a senior, was 21-4.

UTV riders now required to wear seat belts

Riders of ATVs and UTVs are reminded that several law changes went into effect June 1.

Updates include:

• Operators and passengers are all required to wear a seat belt in a UTV.

• Intentionally causing damage with an ATV or UTV can cost you more than a fine — up to three times the cost to repair the damage.

M&O all-conference award winners announced

Lena High School golfer Cooper Demmith was named the golfer of the year for the Marinette & Oconto Conference.

Joining him on the all-conference first team was Gillett High School’s Brady Holla.

Named to the second team were Lena’s Tanner Behnke, and Parker Jenerou, Bradyn Kiedrowski and Chase Rosenlund, all from Gillett.

Pulaski, Bonduel baseball teams win

Pulaski 7, Ashwaubenon 1

Braun Wotruba hit 2-for-3 in the Red Raiders’ regional second-round playoff win.

He was also the winning pitcher. He gave up one run on three hits, walked two and struck out seven.

Bonduel 4, Sturgeon Bay 3
