Hawks golfers take second at Golden Sands

Shawano golfers placed second and Bonduel was fifth at the five-team Bay North Conference Mini-Meet #7 at Golden Sands Golf Course in Cecil on Sept. 16.

Seymour won with a 170, followed by Shawano 191, Sturgeon Bay 216, Oconto 228 and Bonduel 235.

Shawano’s Madelyn Moesch scored a 39, the second best of the meet. She was joined by Lauren Seehafer with 50, and Hailey Hawkinson and Alyssa Slinger, each with 51.

Marion tops Port Edwards on volleyball court

The Mustangs defeated the Blackhawks 3-1 in the Sept. 15 nonconference game.

Marion won the first two games before dropping the third and then sealing the win with a victory in the fourth game.

Scores were 25-17, 25-18, 22-25, 26-24.

Shawano soccer team beats Mosinee

Shawano improved to 6-2-1 overall with a 2-1 nonconference win over Mosinee.

Amherst scored four goals in each half to defeat Gresham/Bowler 8-0 in Gresham.

Pulaski beats Shawano on tennis courts

The Red Raiders tennis team beat Shawano with ease Sept. 15, winning 6-1.

The Hawks’ only victory came at No. 2 singles, when Jaelyn Hietpas gave everything she had to defeat Anna Krause 7-5, 6-4.

Eagles soar at home over Gillett

Wins continue to add up for the Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy football team.

The Titans improved to 4-0 Sept. 12 in Lena with a 44-20 win over Sevastopol in an Across the Bay Conference matchup of undefeated 8-player teams.
