Donations to the Shawano Goodwill store from Monday through Wednesday will benefit the Safe Haven Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Support Center in Shawano. Goodwill’s donation attendants will help donors unload items brought to the Shawano store, 300 Lakeland Road, and provide tax-deductible receipts. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Mountain Bay Outfitters in Shawano has opened a Wednesday farmers market. Mountain Bay Marketplace started June 11 with a handful of vendors of produce and crafts, but Mountain Bay Outfitters owner Tim Conradt said the space can accommodate about 40 as it grows. Mountain Bay Outfitters is on the Mountain Bay Trail at 620 S. Main St. in Shawano.

Members of St. John Lutheran Church Hermansfort will hold a retirement celebration Sunday for their pastor, the Rev. Roland Golz, of Gresham, for whom retirement is nothing new — it’s his third. Golz was already retired when he was first introduced to the congregation 21 years ago. “I told them I could help them out,” said Golz, 82. Golz was born in Racine and lived there through grade school.

The Bonduel American Legion baseball team gave up 15 hits Monday in a 12-2 loss to Clintonville at home. Bonduel (2-2) managed just five hits on Diamond Cats pitcher Turner Doornink, who struck out six and walked four in seven innings. “It was a bummer of a game,” Bonduel coach Jason Luepke said.

LeRoy “Toby” Jones, 92, of Clintonville, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, at Shawano Medical Center. LeRoy Frances Jones was born on Oct. 31, 1921, in Clintonville to Obediah and Margaret (Roberts) Jones. He was united in marriage on Feb. 10, 1942, to Evelyn E. Tyrrell at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Toby entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II from 1942-1943.

Dillon M. Grulkowski, 15, of Gresham, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014. Born on Nov. 5, 1998 in Shawano, he was the son of Michael and Bonnie (Hoffman) Grulkowski Jr. Dillon was a student at the Gresham High School. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his friends, especially his best friend, Derek Bowman. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and playing baseball.

Benjamin G. Wedde, 73, of Clintonville, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014, peacefully at his residence. Ben was born on Aug. 4, 1940, in Clintonville, the son of the late Herman and Ealta (Jahnke) Wedde. He attended Roosevelt Grade School in the Township of Larrabee, Waupaca County, and graduated from Clintonville High School in 1958.
