Crime statistics included in the Shawano Police Department’s annual report are probably not as telling as what’s been going on behind the scenes over the past year, according to Police Chief Mark Kohl. Incidents logged in 2014 compared to 2013 have seen some slight fluctuations, but no drastic increases or reductions in those crimes.

Caroline Mary High, 95, of Gresham, passed away at her home on March 12, 2015. Caroline was born on Sept. 18, 1919, in Taftville, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Elmer and Armelia (LaLiberty) Hoeft. She was united in marriage to Casper C. High on April 20, 1939, in Milwaukee. In 1957 Casper and Caroline moved to Gresham, where Caroline worked at True’s Manufacturing.

Judith Lorenz, 74, of Shawano, passed away on March 11, 2015, at Manor Care. Judith was born on Aug. 30, 1940, in Shawano to the late John and Thelma (Berg) Lorenz. Judith is survived by her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Burns. A funeral service for Judy will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano.

Michael Stanley Brown, 71, passed peacefully in Chandler, Arizona, on March 3, 2015. He was born on Sept. 10, 1943, to loving parents Stanley and Joyce Brown in Shawano. He was preceded by his parents. He is succeeded by his loving wife, Claudia; brother, Dan; daughter, Michelle; son, Cevin; grandchildren, McKenna and Tyler. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2015, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church Tempe, 1035 E.
