The lease agreement permitting Oconto Falls High School sporting events at city-owned Memorial Field will not be renewed, officials from the city and school district decided last week. Representative of the City Council and School Board met on March 10 and agreed a Memorial Field lease, set to expire in June, is no longer necessary.

Helen Louise (Smoot) Peterson, 88, began her heavenly journey at midnight on March 13, 2015. She was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan, to Walter and Rose Smoot on April 13, 1926. She spent her younger years at various places throughout Wisconsin, and as you drove around the area you could hear her say, “I went to school there,” or “We lived there!” One of her favorite places she lived was in Sturgeon Bay.

Gloria Mae Peters, 88, of Oconto Falls, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Sharpe Care LTD, Oconto Falls. Gloria was born March 27, 1926, in Green Bay to the late Hubert and Irene (Hellman) Waldow. She married William Irvin Peters on Jan. 29, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1980. Michael Sylvester Linzmeyer, 52, Suring, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, surrounded by his family, following a long illness. Mike was born in Oconto Falls on Aug. 28, 1962, to Ronald and Mary Jean Linzmeyer. Mike married Lori Wolcott on June 20, 1998, in a beautiful outdoor western ceremony. Mike enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, best friend Mike Symanski and his three furry friends, Sabrina, Scooby and Casper.
