Geraldine L. “Geri” Prickette, 74, passed away on Sept. 6, 2024, in Shawano. Geri was born on April 14, 1950, in Brown County to the late Everett C. and Mildred A. (Benson) Thoreson. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1968. After high school, Geri courageously moved to Milwaukee on her own as an independent hearing-impaired young woman.

To the editor: Not having gone to our Shawano County Fair for a number of years since the COVID, it was time to return and enjoy all the festivities and participate. It was an outstanding year, the weather was great, and all areas were well attended. Thanks to all the people who make it all happen — visitors, doers and entrants. I appreciated all the many events, animals (especially horses), people, friends you run into, etc.
