Wayne Marlow Martin, age 86, of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, at The Pines in Embarrass. Wayne was born in the Town of Red Springs on Sept. 18, 1938, to the late Edwin and Margaret (Welch) Martin. On Dec. 19, 1959, Wayne was united in marriage to Janet Richmond at Immanuel Mohican Lutheran Church in Gresham. Wayne worked as an iron worker and was a proud member of the Local 8 in Milwaukee.

Ann Marie Lotter, 71, Oconto Falls, died Saturday evening, Sept. 21, 2024, at home. She was born June 23, 1953, in Oconto Falls to George and Regina Lotter.

Carol Ann Courchaine, 75, Oconto, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at The Bay, Oconto. Carol was born Nov. 17, 1948, in Oconto to the late John and Donna (Messenger) O’Neil. She married Cletus H. Courchaine on Aug. 26, 1972.

Proceedings of Sept. 20 • Skylarr S. Edwards, 29, Oconto, pleaded no contest Sept. 17 to battery or threat to a law officer, in connection with an incident that occurred July 9. Judge Michael Judge imposed and stayed a prison sentence, then placed him on three years of probation with conditions. Proceedings of Sept. 19 • Michelle Lee Flynn, 37, Marinette, pleaded no contest to felony bail jumping in connection with an incident that occurred Jan.

Sept. 21 New London Invitational Bonduel’s girls took third place among 16 teams. Three girls medaled, Mariah Wondra first in 19:33.8, Teagan Engel seventh in 21:09.1 and Hailey Berg 18th in 22:26.7. The complete team lineup included Cierra Schnell, Kember Frome, Taylor Rank and Seidy Blandon. Suring’s Bunny Cramer led her team.

• Brady J. Peterka, pleaded no contest June 13 to fleeing an officer in his vehicle. On Sept. 16, Judge William Kussel Jr. imposed and stayed a prison sentence and placed him on three years of probation with fines and conditions. • Florentino Medina, 35, pleaded no contest Sept.

The Oconto County Board passed a five-year library services plan Sept. 19 covering the years 2025 through 2029, with supervisors from the Oconto Falls area objecting to the size of the revenue cut slated for the Oconto Falls Community Library in 2025. The plan revises the formula for allocating the county-administered library tax levy in a way that reduces the funds distributed to five of the six local libraries in Oconto County.
