Proceedings of Sept. 27 • The trial of Joey Vandewettering, 62, Town of Gillett, was postponed because of his attorney’s illness and removal from the case. Judge Jay Conley agreed to allow Vandewettering to represent himself at the trial and scheduled a status conference for Oct. 1.

WRDC breaks ground on new building
The Wolf River Development Company could have its own headquarters within a year, and on Sept. 30, the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin broke ground for the 20,000-square-foot, three-story building that will provide for the tribe’s economic future. Currently, the company offices are spread all across the Keshena area, according to CEO Crystal Chapman-Chevalier, so the new building will allow the company to operate in one location.
