The Bonduel School District will begin classes for the 2014-15 school year Sept. 2 for high school freshmen and students in grades 4K through sixth. The remaining students will report for classes Sept. 3. Starting and ending times at district schools will be as follows: 8:10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bonduel Elementary School, 8 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. at Bonduel Middle School and 8:10 a.m. to 3:17 p.m.

The city street lights that the city of Clintonville removed in an effort to save money could be going back up. The city’s street committee voted unanimously Aug. 5 to begin the process of determining the costs of replacing the lights with LED lights and discussing possible rate changes with the Public Service Commission. “There is a strong urgency for constituents for getting the lights back up,” Alderman Greg Rose said.

Cmdr. Reuben Emil Strelow, a 35-year resident of Laguna Woods, California, passed away Aug. 9, 2014. Reuben was born on Sept. 14, 1919, in Regina, Wisconsin, to Otto Carl Strelow and Emma Bertha Loehrl. He was the fifth of 11 children. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1942 (the Class of 1943). Upon graduation, he married Rachel Adeline Syvertson.
