The city of Shawano is looking at reducing the speed limit on Green Bay Street between Eberlein Park and Airport drives from 40 mph to 35.

The record-setting snowfall in 2026 has had an impact on Shawano’s public works budget, it was revealed at a May 26 field committee meeting.

Division 1, Notre Dame (Green Bay) Regional

Pulaski golfers advanced to the sectional round after placing third in regional action at Thornberry Creek at Oneida in Hobart.

The Red Raiders ended the day with a 325. All four golfers placed in the top 11.

Scoring were Ethan Berger at 79, Brady Hayward at 80, and Bradin Schultz and Casey Madlem at 83 each.

Wednesday, May 27

Notre Dame Academy 8, Shawano 2

Shawano jumped out to a 2-0 lead with runs in the first and second innings, but Notre Dame scored four in each of the fourth and sixth innings to win 8-2.

The WIAA regional game loss ended the season for the Hawks, who were seeded fifth in the Division 2 sectional. The Tritons were seeded fourth.

Kimberly 15, Pulaski 1 (girls)

Pulaski’s girls lacrosse team saw their season end with a 15-1 loss to Kimberly in the first round of WIAA playoff action.

Colleen Koski, chief administrative officer of HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls, was recently recognized on the 2026 iteration of the “Rural Hospital and Health System Presidents and CEOs to Know” list published by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Two HSHS hospitals — HSHS St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay and HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls — were recognized by UW Organ and Tissue Donation for an ongoing commitment to saving and improving lives through organ and tissue donation.

Both hospitals, along with the 23 other award recipients, were honored during a ceremony in April in Madison.

The former Banner Banks merged with Bank of Sun Prairie and now operates as Bank of Wisconsin, a branch of Bank of Sun Prairie — a community bank with four branches and roots in northcentral Wisconsin.
